How long does it take to be installed?
We do our best to send a team to your place within 2 working days. Once our technicians are on the ground, installation usually takes one hour.
How can I change my password?
You can change your wifi password via MyMawingu App, which you can download directly from the Google Play store. With MyMawingu, you can change your password, see your balance, pay your bills, and access many other features and offers.
You can also call us on our hotline, 01-11-19-40-00. Make sure to have your Account Number ready. We will confirm your identity by asking you to confirm the phone number you used to register on our service.
Why is my internet slow?
There can be many reasons for slow internet. Rainy weather or network improvements can both slow your connection for a brief time. We advise you to first troubleshoot your connection by following these steps:
1. Switch off the devices from the main power and give it a rest of around 1 minute.
2. Switch the devices back up and give it around 3 mins to pick up.
3. If the problem persists, forget the network in your devices by long pressing the Wi-Fi name and click forget.
4. Connect back to the internet and key in your Wi-Fi password.
5. Confirm if the speeds are now better.
6. If the issue persists kindly contact us for assistance via 01-11-19-40-00 or send us an email.
Why do I have no internet?
There can be many reasons for this. If your account has been paid for, make sure you can see a green light on your router. If not, is your router connected to power? If your router is connected but you still do not have internet, you can unplug and plug again the power source. Wait a few minutes and see what happens. If your internet connection is still not back, do call us on 01-11-19-40-00.
How can I view my balance?
At any time, you can see your balance on the MyMawingu App which you can download on the Play Store. After logging in, you will be able to see your balance, pay your bills, and track your payments at any time.
How can I pay my bill?
Once you have checked your balance, you can pay directly through M-PESA, Paybill 579950. Make sure to put the correct Account Number which you can find on your invoices. You can also pay through the MyMawingu App. So easy!
I forgot my account number.
If you do not remember your account number, you can find it in the SMS communication we have with you. Check in your Mawingu SMS conversation for a number looking like SHO000001234 or CUST-1234.
If you still cannot find it, call us on 01-11-19-40-00. Make sure to provide us with the phone number you registered with so we can find your number faster.

How can I receive my access code?
You are sent an access code upon registration on Mawingu Hotspot’s network. Your access code should be entered as 8 figures (abcd1234). In case you forget or would like to change your access code, contact customer care on 01-11-19-40-00.
What coverage do Mawingu Hotspots have?
To browse at the fastest speed, ensure that you are near a Mawingu hotspot. The coverage is 50 meters radius or more depending on the nearby buildings.
